'Here at Sarah Royle School of Dance, we run as a tight knit family unit, we provide a safe and encouraging environment for our dancers, teaching them that dance is more than just winning medals.'(Sarah Royle, Principal of Sarah Royle School of Dance)

We provide Tap, Ballet, Modern, Commercial, Contemporary, Acro, Stage School, Pointe & Jazz from Age 3 - 18 years!

We like to encourage our students to take a variety of classes to become versatile, make strong friendships and challenge themselves to learn new styles.

We wish our students to be nurtured through their dance training, making them versatile and more successful in their dance journey. We grant our students the opportunity to work in many classes where their development and personal progression is key. Our students become strong performers because of the opportunities to dance on stage twice a year in our shows!

As well as classes, we believe strongly in promoting positive mental health, encouraging our students to talk, make positive connections and have a sense of belonging.

If you have a passion for dance and want to further your training

we have a variety of classes that will be perfect for you!

WORKSHOPS
We always help students to chase their dream of becoming a dancer. We hold regular workshops and associate classes led by industry professionals. These have recently included: Ballet associates with Jenny Hackwell, Acro associates with Amiss Arts and workshops led by Ricky Jinks, Josh Wharmby, Liam Sale, Bruce Aguilar Rohan, Lukas MacFarlene & Andrew Chadwick to name a few!

We hold yearly summer schools (last week in August) and we encourage all our members to take part in our fantastic summer school workshops.

EXAMINATIONS
Students here at SRSD may also given the opportunity to take ISTD dance examinations in Tap, Ballet and Modern theatre. Our teachers always make their professional decisions in the best interest of each student, and will only enter them when they are absolutely ready. Our last set of examinations came in with 16 distinctions & 2 merits, scoring the highest score we've ever had at 94/100.

COMPETITIONS

We hold an in house competition yearly for all SRSD students to take part in. Our competition is encouraging, friendly and a chance to learn new routines, perform in from of an industry professional judge. All students recieve a medal and certificate of participation and a head shot.

You could also be given the opportunity to be involved in competitions where you can showcase your talent to other schools and other professional dancers in a competitive environment winning medals and trophies. We have a selection process for comps, your dancer will only participate if they meet the requirements.

We start our students competing at age 8 if we feel they are at a level to begin competing. We do not take competition students from other schools. We enjoy training our own students from a very early age to train, nurture and be a part of this wonderful journey.
